Caring for Your Artificial Plant
One of the biggest advantages of artificial plants is how little they ask of you. No watering, no fertilising, no worrying about sunlight. But a little care goes a long way in keeping your faux greenery looking vibrant and realistic for years to come.
Dusting
Wipe leaves with a soft microfibre cloth or use a hairdryer on a cool setting every 2–4 weeks. For larger trees, a gentle blast of cool air dislodges dust without any physical contact. For intricate stems and flowers, a soft-bristle brush works well.
Deep Cleaning
Every 3–6 months, give your artificial plant a thorough clean using our Eco-Home Safe Artificial Plant Cleaner. Simply spray evenly across the foliage, wipe gently with a clean microfibre cloth, and allow to air dry. The formula removes dust and grime in one step, restores colour and sheen, and leaves a light protective coating that repels future dust.
Available in a 250ml spray bottle for everyday home use, or a 1L refill size for larger collections.
Outdoor & UV-Resistant Plants
Our UV-resistant outdoor artificial plants can be rinsed with a garden hose to remove pollen, dust, and surface dirt. Allow to drain and dry fully before returning to position. Follow up with a spray of artificial plant cleaner to restore vibrancy and add a protective layer.
Shaping
Most artificial plants have flexible internal wire stems and branches. Gently bend and adjust them to your preferred shape at any time - spread branches outward for a fuller look, or angle them to suit your space.
Storage
If you need to store an artificial plant temporarily, clean it thoroughly first, wrap loosely in breathable material (avoid airtight plastic bags), and keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Reshape branches after removing from storage.
Hanging Plants
Take hanging plants down from their hook before cleaning - it's much easier at bench height. Use the cool hairdryer method first, then follow up with a damp cloth or plant cleaner spray. Allow to dry fully before rehanging.
